DAVID AYER (Co-Screenwriter) is a former U.S. Navy sonarman who served aboard a nuclear attack submarine during the Cold War. He began writing after leaving military service, and prior to his success in Hollywood he worked as an electrician to pay his bills.
His future film projects include Training Day, a gritty police morality tale to star Denzel Washington, and Plague Season, also a police drama co-written with noted crime novelist James Ellroy. This year he will be directing his Sundance screenwriter's lab script, Harsh Times.
